Apps to Assist Your Business

With so many apps in the market place it’s hard to know which ones will actually help you run your business better. The PayNow team have assembled this list of apps that we believe can assist your business to run effectively and save you some time. This is by no means an exhaustive list but will hopefully provide some options to trial and see if they work for you.

Payments – PayNow

We wouldn’t want to start without mentioning our very own PayNow app. This app allows you to charge a customer’s credit card quickly and easily using your mobile phone. It is simple to use and a convenient way to collect payments at the point of sale or over the phone. This app is built for new and existing Stripe uses and when you use PayNow no sensitive card data is ever stored. The app uses Stripe’s mobile API to encrypt and pass data to the Stripe server where it is securely processed. This can be a far cheaper option than using a bank provided merchant machine to process payments.

Collaboration – Slack

Slack is an easy to use messaging app that can be used by everyone in your business and is tipped to replace email as the primary communication tool within organisations. This app allows you to organise channels and group discussions as well as facilitate private messaging. Word documents, spreadsheets, PDFs and more can be shared across the platform. Slack also integrates with a number of other applications like Google Drive and Dropbox to make your life even easier.

Planning/Project Management – Trello

The Trello app allows you to organise projects via a series of boards, lists and cards. Visually you can prioritise and collaborate on your projects across many platforms. Details of the project can be added via comments, due dates and documents and images can be attached. Emails can be sent to the project board to give you a comprehensive view of the actions being taken. Trello will also integrate with Slack and a number of other applications including calendars and maps.

Marketing – Canva

If you want to create fantastic designs for logos, brochures, business cards, social media or infographics just to name a few then look no further than Canva. This app provides millions of templates and graphics to get you started. You can also upload your own graphics and images to use as well. The drag and drop concept allows you to create designs quickly and it provides the ability to share designs and work collaboratively with others.

Social Media – Buffer

Buffer is a great app to help manage all your social media content and channels in one place. This app allows you to draft, schedule and post to multiple platforms and analyse the engagement with your social media channels. It operates from a simple dashboard and can be shared with multiple team members. The paid subscription allows up to 12 social profiles and unlimited scheduled posts.

Accounting – Quickbooks Self Employed

For no fuss accounting via an app, Quickbooks Self Employed is an option to consider. This app allows you to create and send invoices and track expenses. It takes pictures of your receipts and stores them so you never need to be search for those small bits of paper again!
